We heard it from Shannon and Lauren Conrad, so it’s gotta be true ;) While it may sound ideal to be the “Martha Stewart DIY Bride,” it just will not turn out as great as you think it will. Do your research, talk to your recently married friends, and you’ll find out that some things are better off if they’re left for the professionals. Hiring the pros is not only a budget friendly decision, but it also gives you that much more spare time to enjoy the planning process. Leave the logistics to the pros, so you can go try on dresses and plan an amazing honeymoon.

2. When in doubt, cut the guest list.
Cutthroat, we know. But it’s so true! There is no need to invite all of your coworkers or your 2nd cousin’s kids. In the end, this could save you thousands. If you need a little help narrowing down your guest list, click here.
3. Prioritize.
You absolutely do not need to go all out on every aspect of your wedding. Think about what matters most to you and your fiancé. Maybe you guys are all about the music, so you invest in a great band, and then spend a little less on other details. You guys might be major foodies – focus on the food and maybe go lighter on decor. It’s all about balance.

4. Repurpose your Flowers.
We are seeing this more and more, and it is so genius! A lot of Brides will repurpose Bridesmaid bouquets as centerpieces on guest tables, or use ceremony decor at the reception. This is one of the best ways to get the most of your money!
5. You don’t have to get married on a Saturday.
Saturdays are obviously the most convenient for you and your guests, but getting married on a Friday or Sunday could save you thousands. Plus, it’s a great way to force your guests to enjoy a long weekend ;)
