We think this may be our best City Guide yet. Today we have our very own Chicago enthusiast, Bridget, taking over our blog, and we must say, she put together one heck of a West Loop City guide for us. From brunch to date night and everywhere in between, Bridget is sharing the best of the best from the West Loop!
Best Happy Hour
Lone Wolf is one of my absolute favorite bars in the West Loop and is the perfect spot for post-work drinks featuring craft cocktails and beers with a fantastic playlist in a lively atmosphere. The bar is also open late, so stop by for pre or post dinner cocktails as well. During the rare warm months, make sure to visit the pop-up cocktail spot, Expat. Look for this outdoor sidewalk bar that is only open weather pending, the bright neon flags on Green Street are a sign you’re in the right place and it’s time to order a Boozy Sno Cone.
Best Brunch
It’s not even fair to pick one option, so how about breaking it down by mood? The never-fail go-to would be Little Goat, the unique diner concept caters to every eater and they take reservations now! Or make the most out of the wait and head up to their amazing rooftop patio and lounge in the sun with a great brunch cocktail. Au Cheval is the ultimate stop for a hearty breakfast, that is absolutely worth the up to 90 minute wait during peak times on the weekend. Their burger is constantly at the top of the best burger lists in the country and don’t even get me started on the chilaquiles (note: they are open late-night so this can be an “early” breakfast!) Publican is the perfect spot for the most delicious bacon and egg dishes as well as one of the best avocado toast in the city and don’t forget the epic Bloody Marys!
Best Date Night Spot
La Sirena Clandestina is an intimate, small plate restaurant featuring some fabulous wines and cocktails. The Argentinian focused menu features amazing seafood options, the ceviche and empanadas are a must order!
Best Girls Night Out Spot
Instead of settling in at one favorite place, why not hit up all the best the West Loop has to offer? Start off at Cold Storage for an amazing hand-crafted cocktail and the most impressive seafood tower in town then head out to dinner at either the new hot spot Monteverde for the best pasta and fantastic small plates or Momotaro for some unbelievable sushi that will ruin all other sushi spots for you in the future! Cap off the night with decedent sweets and a glass of bubbly at RM Champagne. The macarons are worth a visit alone and the mignardises are featured in a chic display case that is swoon worthy!
Best Gourmet Food Spot
Publican Quality Meats (PQM) is the ultimate butcher shop in the city. Featuring some of the best meats that are also served at Publican just across the street, unique sausages, charcuterie and cuts of meat are all prepped in-house. This is a one-stop shop to pick up all the items for your gourmet dinner or BBQ including some amazing local products and spices. Don’t forget to grab one of their delicious gourmet sandwiches or dine-in and enjoy their amazing outdoor seating area!
