Many people ask me what wedding planners do during their “off season.” My reply is always, “What off season?” Wedding season is so close I can sense it, but today I thought I’d share a little internal peek at what Team SG has been up to during the chilly months!
Corporate Events
Though we have had a few lovely winter weddings, it is true that the sheer quantity of social events does dip down December-March, however, we have been keeping busy planning alongside our partners at Crate and Barrel! From their 2018 Holiday Party to our Private Registry Events in Orange County and across the country, we are in full swing!
Branding
As you may have seen on Instagram, we reached out to all of you to help us select our next logo! Though very similar to our previous version, we did give our branding a bit of a refresh for 2018. SG is always evolving to set trends and standards, and this year is no different. Our website is shining with some of our favorite weddings from the past year, and we just wrapped our team photo shoot with the help of Cristina G Photo, Imagination Designers, Sogna di Vita Salon and Tricia Clarke Makeup.
Internal Processes
One of the most important and time-consuming tasks we tackle during the “off season” is our internal processes. This is everything from our planning tools and resources to customer interfaces and the “SG way.” We are constantly asking ourselves what we can do better and making sure that we are stepping into each year with even better vendor and client experiences than the year before.
Networking & PR
If you follow us on Instagram, you may think that we spend a lot of time in fabulous places with amazing views of Chicago and delicious lunches (often with champagne) and the truth is, you’re right! And although we consider this an enjoyable part of our job, it’s also a highly important one. Spending time catching up with our industry friends, meeting new team members, and planning for partnerships is an integral component of this tight-knit industry and we appreciate the time in these slower months to so!
So there you have it: A little glimpse into our winter roles and responsibilities. We have been hard at work and are eager to share our improvements, relationships, and of course, many many gorgeous events with you in the months to come!
