Real Wedding: Kelli + John at Venue SIX10

Kelli and John’s October wedding was on the ultimate fall day. 50’s and partly cloudy with beautiful colored leaves and trees everywhere. What made it even more perfect was that throughout the day, we were treated to the most incredible views of Grant Park. Our amazing photographer, Amanda Megan Miller, captured this perfectly – from the view from Kelli’s suite at the Hilton Chicago, to the view from the wedding venue, Venue SIX10, Kelli & John’s wedding will go down as one of our favorite fall weddings of all time.

Styling Kelli and John’s wedding was nothing but FUN. When we first met, Kelli had told me all about how she enlisted the help of Amy Beck Cake Designs to not only design her wedding cake, but to design one cake for each guest table – so 15 wedding cakes. Not that cakes as centerpieces needed any further explanation (I was already sold!), Kelli told me that she just wasn’t much of a “flower” girl, but that she was most definitely a “cake” girl! Obviously I was 100% on board and was so ready to style the rest of her wedding. Our first step was finding the perfect props to display the cakes – we couldn’t just have ordinary cake pedestals – we had to have the best of the best. This is where Nimble Well came in. They provided us with 9 different styles of beautiful white cake stands, all varying in height and design, which really ended up being the “icing on the cake.” To incorporate more of the dark amethyst purple, we went with eggplant table linens, and added a bit of warmth with twinkling votives scattered on each table. Venue SIX10 was the absolute perfect setting for Kelli’s wedding as it really brought in the “modern” feel. O’Dea Entertainment brought down the (beautiful, amethyst purple, white, and grey) house with some great music, and the rest was up to Kelli & John, who danced the night away! It was truly one of the most enjoyable experiences planning Kelli & John’s wedding, and I am so grateful to have met such a great couple! -Breanna
